O
O is a speculative design project rethinking how digital information is organized and accessed in virtual reality. I challenge common two-dimensional hierarchical file systems by proposing a spatial, continuously visible data structure designed for three-dimensional environments.
The system is based on two interconnected zones.
A Data Pool, where all files exist simultaneously and remain accessible and a Work Space for active interaction. Instead of duplicating files, the system represents them using visual version histories and adaptive strands that organise information according to attributes such as type, recency and user-defined logic. This transforms data navigation into a spatial and cognitive experience.
- Documentation of the design process
O is not presented as a final product, but as a framework for rethinking data beyond hierarchical metaphors. I explore how information systems can become transparent, dynamic and shaped by individual interaction; where data is not hidden in folders, but experienced as an evolving landscape in a new dimension.
